The Roku Warriors first worked together in 2007 after all drawing the short straw to complete a black OP mission behind enemy lines. This mission was to infiltrate a base in Afghanistan where it was believed a new type of weapon was being made. All 6 fitted in well and they quickly bonded and renamed themselves The Roku Warriors. Unbeknown to the team this was largely believed to be a suicide mission by superiors. While the loss of a team was great given these 6 were some of the units best it was deemed necessary to destroy the base. Surprisingly to everyone but themselves the team survived and completed all objectives. Normally G.A.P.S. don’t often work in the same team more than twice but the Roku warriors were different. They would be called on many times to reunite and take on the impossible missions.

One such mission was a rescue and retrieval in North Korea in March of 08. One of the most elite G.A.P.S. units had been discovered providing cover for the SAS as they were extracting captured journalists and 2 of its members were badly wounded. The SAS had gotten the journalists out but had left believing there was no hope for the G.A.P.S. unit. Pinned down, their exit chopper gone and fast running out of ammo and supplies only The Roku Warriors had a chance at saving them. Using every trick in the book they knew and a few they learned on the spot they managed to rescue 5 of the 6 members.

A few days after the outbreak happened the leader of the Roku Warriors Ravage, called in her team. They were to secure some DBD servers on the 7th floor of a building in the CBD of Melbourne. They did all they could do in securing the servers and knowing that there was one more objective, they headed North.

The Roku Warriors are a rag tag bunch, all from different walks of life. G.A.P.S. recruited each of them individually for their unique skills. Between them they have proficiency in every kind of weapon, explosives, computers, biological hazards, tactics, strategy and several languages. With at last count 12 degrees between them and decades of military training they make one of the most complete and effective units G.A.P.S. have.

Introducing the members…

Ravage: Team Leader

Rhiannon “Ravage” Ducray has got to be the craziest mother ****ers this team has ever seen. She was recruited to G.A.P.S. in the summer of 06 and quickly became known for her creative fighting, questionable ethics and her leadership skills. Ravage turns an oncoming mob of the enemy or infected into what can only be described as an art work of flying limbs and spraying blood. She is not really a conversationalist and most of Ravage’s dialogue is flanked by four letter words. With an unparalleled fury that originated from years of hardcore training and a miss spent youth at shooting games, Ravage has taken on more than her fair share of fights and won them all.

From an early age Ravage had a fascination with the human body. More particularly, how fast and in what trajectory could human parts travel when assaulted with different hand fashioned weapons. The outbreak wasn’t the end of the world for Ravage. It was the start of one, her world. Unsurprisingly, Ravage prefers different weapons to firearms. In fact, the only documented occasion in which she preferred using a gun involved her unclipping the magazine, removing the slide and then shoving into an Infected’s mouth until it exited the back of his skull.

Instead of a gun’s Ravage prefers her “bag of tricks.” Its a small backpack which contains a few knives, screwdriver, hammer, cheese wire, her ‘lucky’ rock and a pair of metal chopsticks. Before a fight, she reaches in at random and whatever is pulled out, she uses. For added measure Ravage is rarely seen parted from the Louisville slugger baseball bat strapped to her back.

Donning a welder’s mask and her item of choice, Ravage is always first in and last out of a bloody fight. Her skill not only lies in creative assassinations, but also in computer hacking and data recovery. Only problem is, the screen and keyboard are covered in so much blood no one except she can use it afterwards. Ravage is a truly a force to be reckoned with and as long as she keeps her “bag of tricks” pointed towards the horde, the team is happy to follow her.

Sun-Tzu: Tactical specialist

Corey “Sun-Tzu” Milstein was a university professor of Historical Warfare in Melbourne Australia before he was recruited into G.A.P.S. in 05 to oversee strategic and tactical planning. He had been studying various types of history from a young age and he quickly became adept in recognising and employing these various strategies and tactics for war. His first practical start at honing these skills was in the bush hunting down rabbits and other vermin. With his interest in weaponry, his knowledge on a battlefield, thirst for weaponry and military technology and his unsurpassed marksmanship he is a master in the art or war.

The key difference between the past Sun studied and the present he lives in is that the enemy who once walked only on pages now walk among us. His prey has turned from mammals to gangs of lawless bandits and the undead. While the other members of the team may do much of the killing, Sun-Tzu’s speciality is coordinating the strategies and developing plans to overcome vast numbers of the infected as well finding exit paths to save his team. That’s not to say that he doesn’t love to get his hands dirty as well, his kill count is impressive enough to raise even the eyebrow of Ravage.

While roaming the various towns and cities, Sun-Tzu’s most precious cargo are the books he collects. His most sought after book is a copy of Homer’s Iliad which is still unaccounted for. A tattoo on his left forearm bears the only known remainder of Homer’s words; “Rough justice, fitting too.” Being the ‘know it all’ of the group, Sun-Tzu never tires of answering historical questions or recanting stories, myths and legends to his team mates around a camp fire.

This team is an unconventional machine of killing, destruction and pure combat skill. Merge this with the strategic, systematic and adaptable guidance of Sun-Tzu and it becomes a combination which, when in motion is an unstoppable force.

Sun-Tzu is fierce and merciless to those who threaten the lives of his team mates. Flanked by some of the most feared humans still living on the planet, Sun-Tzu is determined to help his team survive the apocalypse and rewrite the course of history as thousands had done before.

SNAKE EYES: Information specialist

Nazam “Snake Eyes” Shahpar was a welcome addition to the team when they formed. For years before joining G.A.P.S he lived what many would call an ‘unorthodox’ life. For the team, that experience would become invaluable. He is one of the more mysterious members and was recruited after the leaders of G.A.P.S. saw a hole in their intelligence gathering and needed someone who had never served to fill it.

Nazam used to make a living by conning casinos and high rollers around the world. Armed with nothing but a pair of loaded dice and a honeyed tongue, he would make a killing at the Kraps table. The die would always fall on his two favourite numbers, double one, snake eyes. He would later use these skills again to fleece foreign dignitaries of full wallets and national secrets.

The thing Snake Eyes knows best was how to disappear. When you need to get out of a sticky situation, you want this guy on your side. Snake Eyes isn’t all about evasion, he is lethal as well. The combination of his skills and the two silenced P250 Tactical’s he holsters make him extremely deadly.

Before joining G.A.P.S. and when the thrill of gambling in high class establishments wore off he begin offering his services as a hit-man. God help you if you end up on his list and he rolled a “snakes eyes” on you. Nothing will stop you from being slumped in an alleyway with a bullet hole where each of your eyes used to be.

Snake Eyes can go anywhere and do almost anything without ever being detected. If for some reason you do detect him wear your best poker face.

DUKE: Computer systems specialist

Faisal “Duke” MA, well what can be said about Duke? A man of few words, this computer prodigy is skilled in eliciting highly classified information from any server around the world. Much of his background is unknown and no one on the team has yet to break through his cool exterior. The symbiont tattoo on his right shoulder is even more unknown and just as intriguing than the man himself. Duke did serve briefly with the ADF but after he left he went off the grid. He was successfully recruited from an unknown source and all G.A.P.S. would say is that his skills were highly sought after and they made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Some say he wasn’t given a choice after pulling files from a classified mainframe using only his Iphone.

His lightning quick fingers don’t just apply to the keyboard. He possesses formidable physical skills and his strength lies with his infallible accuracy with firearms and sharpshooting. Duke will shoot down a row of reanimated meat sacks before you can line ‘em up.

After being assigned to the same research facility as Yoshi, Duke quickly programmed and designed the computers to do his job for him, spending the rest of his time on the firing range. This guy earned seven figures without having to lift a finger! When you spend years looking down gun sights at a range you get pretty good.

Well Duke got good, really good, really fast. His eyes could read the target movements like whizzing binary. He eventually had to reprogram the target range to fit his skill level. Only the SAS and the Mossad have ever produced another soldier capable of completing it.
This masterpiece of combat simulation could only be named for what it did; Defining Ultimate Killer Efficiency or D.U.K.E.

YOSHI: Science specialist

Yoshi was definitely much more than she seemed. Right out of high school she joined the ADF during her GAP year and then went on to complete degrees in microbiology and chemical engineering taking half the time as most. After her degrees were finished she was was recognised for her brains as well as her physical determination. On request she was transferred to the biological weapons unit connected with NATO, one which was not officially recognised by any Government. Yoshi had research and recovery missions all around the world.

In Japan where she was stationed for 4 year she trained in Jujutsu, Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu, her fast mind giving strength to her even faster strikes. After training with Eve and equipped with a Katana she was even more dangerous. It was then that she received her name ‘Yoshi’ referring to the fictional Yoshimitsu character from a Japanese video game who was an expert in Japanese martial arts and swordsmanship and like her, of a small stature.

She was never cut out for the normal lab work. I guess that was a throw back to her days as a kid climbing trees with her brothers and pushing her body to its limits. After 12 years with the ADF she became disillusioned by an increasing amount of time behind a microscope and was recruited by G.A.P.S. Two years into her career at G.A.P.S. she was injured during a gunfight and needed 6 months off to recover. She used this time to further her studies in the field of Nanotechnology until she was ready for active duty.

Yoshi performed many successful missions, most notably with her team The Roku Warriors. Eventually she was reassigned to a secret biological weapons facility underneath the Australian desert. With wide open spaces and no vegetation in sight it was perfect place for testing weapons. When the virus hit, the rest of the staff were either recalled to other facilities or left to be with their families. Yoshi however stayed, adamant that she could find the answers to what had happened. She stayed until Ravage the leader of The Roku Warriors called her.

Yoshi is trained in several martial arts and proficient in most weapons. A master of the sword and resourceful, her training both in science and warfare make her one of the most gifted recruits to G.A.P.S.

EVE:

Sada “Eve” Abe now known in this century as Kerrie Butler was ‘born’ in Hiroshima, Japan in 1855, or so she says. The circumstances surrounding her birth are mostly unknown. Whispers through the decades hint of a Japanese and U.S. genome experiment in the early nineteenth century. This legend is considered the first attempt of a “test tube” baby. The result was Eve. A name bestowed upon her by the doctors of the project in an attempt to mock God’s first female creation. Almost every trace of these experiments, and the project itself, were destroyed when Big Boy dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.

Eve began training from a young age at a local sushi restaurant. She quickly discovered that she possessed cells that did not seem to age as well as abnormally superior reflexes and fitness. Able to cut and cook with inhuman precision, Eve soared right to the top of her profession, becoming one of the youngest to earn the title of The Iron Chef.

It was here that Eve’s fascination with blades began. In her late twenties it was apparent to Eve, and others around her, that her body appeared not to age past twenty. And so, at the age of thirty, in order to escape suspicion and for fear she will be captured for further experimentation, Eve fled to travel the world and later settle in America.

In order to make a living, she started to craft Japanese styled fighting knives and selling them on the black market to local gangs. With a fair inflow of cash and nothing but time on her hands, Eve became an expert wielder in countless types of blades. Her favourite, though, was the Katana.

Eve later returned to Japan and began running a knife business out the back of her Sushi restaurant which she set up as soon as she had the money. This is where she met Yoshi and the two would spar together, honing their killing skills to near perfection. Not long after Yoshi was reassigned, G.A.P.S. found out about her unusual past. Always interested in the potential of the human body she was recruited. She gave a sample of her blood for anonymity, safety and a home for as long as she would live.

Eve holds the group record of cutting an infected into 6 pieces before it hit the ground, and 5 pieces for a human. She can literally turn any living thing into sushi faster than most can speed dial. While Ravage is known more for her impressionist killing art, Eve is a colour inside the lines kind if women.

Funny, intelligent and deceptively docile, Eve is the life of the team (ironically being one who has taken the most lives). Besides the exciting up and go life of G.A.P.S. there is only one other thing that Eve truly takes pleasure in, finding a fresh stash of her favourite fruit. Apples.
